More than 30 years ago, longtime friends, Robert V. Piggott and William (Bill) V. Taylor, established Toano Contractors with the goal of offering high-quality site work and land development with a no-nonsense approach. Driven by their passion and vision, Robert and Bill built a successful business—and countless subdivisions and commercial sites throughout the region.
Soon, the next generation joined the company. Bill’s two sons, Chris and Randy, could often be found on a job site, laboring, running equipment and learning every facet of the construction industry from the ground up.

After graduating from Old Dominion University, both Chris and Randy returned to the family business. Their leadership has helped forge the road ahead for Toano Contractors, combining the lessons and beliefs handed down from their father and Robert Piggott with today’s technologies and equipment.
